This product does exactly what it sets out to do.

The floorplans are clearly rendered, with slight overlap, to aid in taping together. Care has been taken to provide for essential facilities, such as toilets, and there are spare bunks for passengers or extra crew.

The ship is just over 100 feet long, has seats for 2 crew in the cockpit, with extra stations elsewhere (engineer?, gunner?).

Two sheets of cargo containers and crates is included, which can be placed where required. Note to other publishers - this is much more useful, than having these fixed on the map.

A 19-page article describes the ship in general terms, and provides D20 Modern/Future stats. Though I have not used the ship in a D20 game, the stats appear to cover the essentials.

I would happily check out other products from this publisher, if I were running a future RPG or skirmish game.

Comes with two deck plans, both in color and black & white, with blank rooms and cargo containers so you can mix and match for a customized battle map. Includes bathrooms (or heads as you sea dogs call it) which puts it better than most every Traveller design I've ever seen.

A few nitpicks keep this product from being perfect though:

  1. The stairwells on the black & white copies need touched up a bit. Nothing that can't be fixed with a basic art program but still.
  2. The forward hold can be used as an airlock but there are no dedicated airlocks on this space ship. For me that is a design flaw.

Those nitpicks aside, a good product at a good value.

This is a ship to fall in love with! At least, I have. Ryan Wolfe's Future Armada Ships are always very well designed and have that feeling that everything is in his proper place and that it is a functional starship, not just a "Dungeon in space", but this ship particularly is something more, it has character. Midnight rose aims for that 'rusty bucket that needs love to fly' feel, like Han's Millenium Falcon or Mal's Firefly, and nails it perfectly. It's a small ship, perfect for a group of characters to sail the void looking for adventure and credits.
