Wonderful as an intro to Tomb of Annihilation, with lots of flavour and guidance to scene-setting. HOWEVER, I've found the time estimate per mini-adventure to be highly misleading and/or unrealistic...player rewards feel very underwhelming as a result. The bloat in time one often spends on this modole, strangely, is a testament to the fact that there are some very interesting NPCs that the DM can flesh out. Harper's Nerissa, for example, became a full-fledged permanent NPC companion to my ToA players and they love her to bits.

Logistically, maps were lacklustre but combat data was well-presented. Overall, therefore, good module but with poorly estimated time allocation and planned rewards.

Needs a bit of stitching together on the DMs end but as a roleplay-heavy AL module it provides a nice change of pace. Seems to be a good module for beginner DMs.

Module infamous for its nasty surprise, but the rest is not necessarily remarkable. But the aforementioned surprise is itself worth the price of entry, and has created several stories at many tables in my D&D community, stories that have been traded across said tables.

As many have mentioned Kobold communities beg to be played with a mixture of humour and viciousness, and in the hands of a flexible, RP-capable DM, the NPCs can really shine both in combat and out, creating very exciting tone switches as well as transitions between the various pillars of play (exploration, combat, roleplay)...not many AL modules do this.

Milestone level system makes this a very flexible introductory module, and never pressures players to prioritise combat, which really opens things up for players to flesh out their characters.

Several threads of mystery are presented but I found that not all of them maintained a good level of interesting detail, which boggs down the overall experience a little.
