CCC-TTS-1 Three Moles for Father Octavius

I can thoroughly recommend this adventure. The story follows Ian Hawthorne's style of writing stories that are heartfelt and engaging. Once again he has surprised me with another God I have never heard of before. The story is well written and easy to follow, interspersed with some really good art that helps to set some of the scenes. Maps are provided that are clear and can be used as battlemaps, together with maps of the region and the town. Our group had a fun time playing this adventure, which came across to me as well balanced. I have not yet run it myself.

Readers should also look to his other works, with Will Doyle and Richard Green, that are part of the CCC-UK series that enriches the Cormanthor Forest area, south of the Moonsea.

I played this adventure during the playtesting phase, and bought it myself to run.

I found this a difficult adventure to DM. The optional bonus sections were very much required, but it was very hard to add them seemlessly.

CCC-UK-1 Call of the Elvenflow

TLDR: A well written adventure with novel encounters, an interesting backstory, and useful maps.

Review: My opinion is that of a player of the adventure, with a DM's eye on the detail. Reading through the script shows a lot of effort has gone into its creation, with no obvious omissions or errors. I love the cover art; it feels like a homage to the original UK series of adventures published by TSR.

The background adds some tasty pieces of lore to the Cormanthor forest, which I have previously visited in Baldman Games' trilogy, and the recent 'Lost Tales of Myth Drannor' by WotC. Importantly, the text is easy to follow, and the maps are useful, which isn't always the case with AL offerings. The art style is a bonus to the product, although I would have been happier if a printer friendly version were available without the faux parchment effect.

The encounters are interesting and well thought out. One in particular stands out, but you'll have to play it to see just how great it is.

Time will tell what it is like to run, but as a player it was a lot of fun. This comes highly recommended. It would be a great way of starting characters in the Cormanthor region, leading to the adventures I mentioned earlier, and is itself a hook to 'The Wayward Wives' by Will Doyle.

Worth buying for the maps alone! Admittedly bought at $3.99 (£2.15).

This pack is a great addition to the DDAL adventure, at a very reasonable price. The battle maps have some very detailed textures, and are available in various formats. I favour using the JPG and cutting them up into A4 using Posterazor.

I really enjoyed putting this together. The instructions were simple to follow. I really recommend following their lead and getting card stock and a liquid glue stick! Looking forward to making more of their models.
