ADD TO WISHLIST >
Welcome to the Return of the Mammoth Dungeons.
Back to old-school mammoth dungeon, this product offers a variety of uses. You can simply take it straight, fill the rooms and start your favourite dungeon crawl campaign. The dungeon has suggested key areas but, if you want customization, it lies few cliks before you! Using the "Rule the Dungeon" feature you can alter the map as you wish (see below) to suit your needs. Want a blank dungeon without features? Want just the key areas over a white background? Want to print only some portions of the dungeon? Want to make handouts for your players with the dungeon without features? You can do all and more! The Dungeon Under The Mountain is a massive dungeon you can locate anywhere in your campaign world. Each level contains hundreds of rooms ready to be filled with the critters of your choice and with the devious traps you prefer.

What You Get
Each product contains one king-size map (22”x34”) and the same map divided in eight US letter sheets. So, your choice is to print the whole map (maybe through a print server) or print yourself the single pieces and tape them together. You can print even a small portion of the dungeon and scale it as you see fit since these products are completely vector-based; therefore you will not suffer loss of print resolution. So, you could print out every single room in battlemap-scale, for use with your miniatures.

Rule Your Dungeon!
This exclusive feature allows you to customize the look of your dungeon and make it more print- friendly (black and white), or add the furniture, toggle the grid, hide the room numbers and more.
On each sheet, you will find a big button like this
rule.jpg
This button will not be printed, so, don’t mind if it covers some rooms. By clicking on this button some options will be shown, as detailed below. Please be aware that each time you make a choice it reflects over the whole document (the 22”x34” map, and the single pieces).
A checkmark will appear beside the options active, except for the toggle option.
Here are the options available:

Numbers: hides room numbers, useful if you want use your own room numbers.
Furniture: hides furniture, doors and the like and allows you to print and draw your own rooms
Grid: activate/deactivate the grid
Teleport: activate/deactivate the teleport (green) areas
Water: activate/deactivate the water (blue) areas
Main Areas: activate/deactivate the main (orange) areas
Secondary Areas: activate/deactivate the secondary (yellow) areas
Fill: activate/deactivate the black in the walls and allows you to save more ink .
Toggle White/Yellow: this option toggles the rooms background from yellow to white and vice versa.
All: activate all options (if any one is disabled) or deactivate all options (if all are activated).

Hey Rob, sorry for the delay. 0one products are not protected in any way. We believe our customers will sustain us. So, you can extract anything you want from the PDF and, being vector graphics, enlarge as you wish without loss of quality.

So this seems to be the closest to a mega dungeon useable in FG VTT all be it with having to convert it using Arkenforge to add LOS.
A lot to purchasase.
Can anyone say if it is possible to get the base jpg or png extracted to make it useable as a baseline map?

Hi. I purchased this a while ago and recently got the itch to run a large dungeon crawl. I quickly went to my file server to open the pdf and immediately I said "YES! This will work fine!" :) I do have a question though. I would like to take the full map to Staples to have them print it out on a large format printer and laminate the complete map. I know the PDF has the complete map, but I can't figure out how to export or save just the full map page to a png or jpg file. What I wanted to know is this... Can you possibly send me a png of the FULL level? If you need proof that I own the product, I'm sure we can figure something out, like me or you contacting the RPGnow admins to verify my account has purchased this item. Anyhow, please let me know as I'd love to get this map printed and laminated then I can start running my campaign.

Hey John,
Glad you like the product.
You have no need of a .png or .jpg file, just take the product to a print server and they will print the large map as you wish. The .pdf file perform better than other file formats because it retains vector informations and you can even print it enlarged holding full quality.

Mario,

One quick question. I was able to import the pdf into Photoshop and specifically work on the full sized map. By doing this it retains it vector information so the map can be adjusted. I saved the map as a PSD or Photoshop file which also retains the vector data. I then used Staples online service to upload the map as a 24x36 poster. I did notice a column of empty space on the left side so I checked the map again in Photoshop and it's size is actually something like 23.1x33.0. So I adjusted the size of the map by taking off the constrain proportions feature and made the map 24x36" so that it will fit the poster sized paper Staples has. Will this corrupt the clarity or quality of the map any? I'm not sure if leaving it the way it was at 23.1x33.0" would print with the empty space to the left side as shown on Staples webpage, and if so if they would trim that off or not. I then want to get the poster sized print laminated to protect it. Anyhow, if you can just answer if there will be...See more

John,
By changing the aspect ratio of the image your squares shall no longer be squares. Being vectors the quality shall not be compromised but the look of the map changes. I would suggest to place the map in the middle of the poster and fill the two side spaces with black.

Thanks again Mario. I'll be picking up the rest of the Dungeon Under the Mountain series a level at a time as I need to make use of them for my EPIC Dungeon Crawl campaign. BTW, is this dungeon larger than the old 2nd edition AD&D Undermountain? It certainly seems to be. :)

I DMed for years in Undermountain, stll can't say which level is bigger. For sure, if you put all the Under the Mountain ten levels together these are larger than Undermountain and than any other megadungeon I know :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
