F20 Gamers Against Cancer Edition

ADD TO WISHLIST >

F20 is a generic game system made for action. Our philosophy with F20 is to be short and sweet.

And what could be sweeter than helping a good cause?

Every cent we make on this product (after paying for the space on RPGnow) is going to the American Cancer Society.

And why should you try F20?

  • Adjustable detail level -- use broad or specific skills and attributes as suits your game.
  • Basic resolution is dead simple: (stat + skill + 1d20) versus (opposed roll or DC).
  • Fast and straightfowards combat.
  • Simple vehicle creation and racial design rules.
  • Two power systems: Innate Powers, an advantage-based system for superpowers, mutations, and high-end psionics; and Learned Powers, a skill-based system for magic, 'mystic tricks' or wuxia, and low-end psionics.
  • Just 35 black-and-white pages, including cover, OGL and special thanks page -- easy to print out even on a home computer!
  • Constantly improving: F20 is up to v1.2, the fourth release of the core rules. New releases average every six months.
  • Support: F20 is the game system behind the space-less space opera Aquavita and the dark fantasy Tribes of Mother Night... and more games are coming!
  • This is everything! While other F20 games will included 'stripped-down' versions of these core rules (always under 64 pages, and usually much less), F20 GACE includes everything -- the entire core rules, without any exclusions, plus bonus content like design notes.
  • It's gaming goodness for a good cause.

Warning: This item is priced below RPGnow's minimum checkout price of $6.40! To bring your order up to the minimum, we reccomend these other other fine universal RPGs and charity products: d4-d4, EABA Elemental, Heroes of Hope, Hungry Little Monsters, OVA Personal Artifacts, and Relief Effort.

Flexible, fast, fun, frugal: F20. Your love of it will know no limit.

At first glance, this game appears to borrow heavily from several other systems. Many others probably say the same. Even so, this lends the system an enormous degree of flexibility and adaptability, making it a system not to be underestimated.<br& [...]

Good... not great. The bad: Lacks a system to build point based characters for other D20 games. Why cant we have a point system to build d20 Fantasy or d20 Modern characters. The good: A working point based system compatible with the ba [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
