The Ultrapolis:  The Ultrapolis is a city that dwarfs all other cities ever to exist. Not everyone who works in the Ultrapolis lives in the Ultrapolis, though. Many live just outside the Ultrapolis, in the Sticks. The Sticks has largely been abandoned by the Powers that Be. Police and rescue departments never much even enter the Sticks anymore. And that is where the Vigilantes step in, filling the void that the absence of the authorities has left, standing the line against crime and chaos through sheer force of will. That, and all of the mecha technology that a secret wealthy benefactor can buy.

Warning: They are Watching.

So reads the latest tag showing up on walls, vehicles, and hacked computers all over the city. No one thinks much of it, and the tags soon get lost amidst the constant noise of the Ultrapolis. But, Identity soon goes beyond simple tagging. Their demand: all monitoring devices by the government and corporations will be turned off permanently, or there will be consequences. And then they demonstrate their power as hundreds of banks are robbed simultaneously all across the Sticks. The local authorities are unprepared to handle such a large-scale threat to the banking system, much less hunt down the hackers who caused it to happen. If the hackers are to be hunted down and stopped, it will be up to the Vigilantes to do it.
